Hi! I had the same problem.
The following steps will help
Open regedit and search the registry for the mask "tools-" . You'll have to find tools-freebsd, tools-solaris and other. Delete this registry folder containing this key. After removal of all keys, I was able to normal install Vmware Workstation 12.0.1.
