Using vSOM as an Metric Endpoint from vRA

I am trying to configure vRA 6.2.3 to use vSOM 5.8.3 as an endpoint.  The documentation says to use the vSOM url like this:   https://vcops.my-env.com/suite-api/ however, when I update the url to reflect my information I get access denied.  I have tried several different ways to access this data with no success.  Does anyone have any suggestions on what to use?
