Veeam VSS / vRanger VSS tools vs VMWare Tools VSS ?

Hi,

We are running vSphere 5.5.  We are looking into VMware Backup Products with VSS feature.

It appears both Veeam and vRanger gets its own VSS tool.

Just wonder if we make backup with those VM backup products and need quiescing (Like: VM running SQL Server / Domain Controller), is it better for us to use the VM Backup Product VSS tool instead of the built-in one from VMware ?
