Port Channel using 2 host

Hi Folks,

Network guy needing some Vmware advise

Is it possible to put 1 NIC from 2 host into a LAG group?

When I do this one of the links on the physical switch get's suspened.  Maybe loop prevention?

Just trying to figure out of it's a limitation or maybe a configuration error on my end.

I have 2 host, 1 NIC from each host plugged into the physical switch, who's ports are members of the same port channel.

using VDS with esx 6.0
