Hi everyone
I am having a pretty big issue with networking in my VMware Workstation 12 setup.
I am using 1 VM, with Bridged networking. I have a Sonicwall at factory settings giving out DHCP.
Host: Win 10 Pro 64 - 192.168.2.2
VM: Win 2012 R2 64 - 192.168.2.200
I go into my VM, navigate to \\192.168.2.2 and start a file copy to my desktop.
As soon as the copy starts, I am unable to ping my Sonicwall at 192.168.1.1. I am able to ping and access the web interface from other devices connected to the Sonicwall, so it's not an issue with it.
If I stop the copy or let it finish, the network adapter on the host, will continue sending at the same speed for up to 5-10 minutes after the file copy is done!!
While the adapter is still 'sending' I am unable to disable it, and the only way to fix it is to reboot the host.
I have created a YouTube video and posted it here with my problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGZDZ-8vd_Q
I have tried this on a fresh install of Win10, and I see the same problems. I tried both the e1000e & VMXNET3 adapter - same issue on both. I have tried setting up a new network interface in Virtual Network Manager - same problem.
This issue does not happen if I use Hyper-V. Specifically only on VMware Workstation.
I am more than happy to answer any debugging questions you guys might have, so please let me know!
