Hi mgordeev. Did you get the K40m working in Windows? I'm also trying to install in pci passthrough mode to a Windows 7 vm. After adding a couple of vmx settings I'm able to start the vm and successfully install/start the K40m card. The issue is that Windows doesn't seem to actually be using it. I checked via dxdiag and it's using VMware SVGA 3D. Device Manager clearly shows the NVIDIA K40m display adapter installed and running. One thing I did notice in the vDGA deployment guide is that it states after NVIDIA driver install we must enable the proprietary NVIDIA capture APIs by running “C:\Program Files\Common Files\VMware\Teradici PCoIP Server\MontereyEnable.exe” -enable. Problem is that file doesn't exist. I'm thinking maybe that's a specific instruction for the GRID cards?
In any case, the deployment guide goes on to state, "In order to activate the NVIDIA display adaptor, you must connect to the virtual machine for the first time via PCoIP in full screen from the endpoint (at native resolution), or the virtual machine will use the Soft3D display adapter. Well, that's exactly what I did - connect to the vm via PCoIP (direct connection) after the NVIDIA driver and View agent was installed and rebooted.
I feel like I'm missing something small. It's odd that the driver is installed and started successfully, but Windows is using the Soft3D display adapter. If anyone can help me out with this much appreciated.
