I was able to fix this part of the error by following the steps given here: When opening a virtual machine in VMware Fusion I get the error " Could not open dev vmmon Broken pipe." How do I fix th…
However, it was followed up by a "Not enough physical memory" error, as detailed here: "Not Enough Physical Memory" error on MacOS Big Sur Beta 1
Till now, I haven't found a solution/workaround for this.
Hi,
you can follow the steps in this post to repair the virtula disk. Also good for "vmware workstation 15.5"

Yes, I have configured syslog as mentioned in the document . im able to find edge logs as well .
but the logs appear with hostname as the vcenter and not edge hostname .
I'm almost certain there is. Did you go read the documentation?
I tried the command but got an error:
C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Workstation>vmware-vdiskmanager -R "c:vmware\win2016F\disque virtuel.vmdk"
VixDiskLib: Failed to initialize PhoneHome library.
FILE: FileLockCreateEntryDirectory creation failure on 'C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Workstation\vmware\win2016F\disque virtuel.vmdk.lck': The system cannot find the file specified
FILE: FileIO_Lock on 'C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Workstation\vmware\win2016F\disque virtuel.vmdk' failed: The system cannot find the file specified
Any idea??
Thanks
After having uploaded several different VMs from VMware Fusion Pro 11.5.5 to vCenter Server 6.7 (licensed as "Essentials"), I suddenly get error "1769209860" for any additional VMs to be uploaded. No other information is available.
Question:
Is there a limit of 10 VMs on a single ESXi host controlled by vCenter Server 6.7? Couldn't find a restriction on VMs, only on number of CPUs.
Thanks for any help.

If you're a paying customer and have purchased support, yes.
Configuring IP alone is not enough, there should be a connectivity as well for the log forwarding to work. Are you sure that we have the connectivity ?
C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Workstation>vmware-vdiskmanager -R "c:vmware\win2016F\disque virtuel.vmdk"
Shouldn't it be ... -R "c:\vmware\..." ? (missing \ after c:)
OUps,
Sorry,
I got an error too:
C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Workstation>vmware-vdiskmanager -R "c:\vmware\win2016F\disque virtuel.vmdk"
VixDiskLib: Failed to initialize PhoneHome library.
Thanks
There's no limit regarding VMs on an ESXi host, other than what the host can handle (CPU, memory, ...).
Did the issue occur out of the blue, or has something been changed on the Mac, e.g. updates, ...?
Did you check whether any log files are created which contain details about the error?

... you did not enter "\" in c:
C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Workstation>vmware-vdiskmanager -R "c:vmware\win2016F\disque virtuel.vmdk"
C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Workstation>vmware-vdiskmanager -R "c:\vmware\win2016F\disque virtuel.vmdk"

I am on the latest 20H2 Tech Preview and I am still facing this error.
I did it correctly and get the error,
C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Workstation>vmware-vdiskmanager -R "c:\vmware\win2016F\disque virtuel.vmdk"
VixDiskLib: Failed to initialize PhoneHome library.
Did I miss something??
Thanks
the command is correct.
try to create a new virtual machine and mount the vmdk of this vm.
ARomeo
Could you please help in this ??
I cannot see how and when I can "mount" my VM file??
Thanks a lot in advance
Hi,
I succeed to create a new one and I have inserted the VMDK file to this new.
So, now I can boot to Windows 2016 server!! You save my live.
But, Looks like this Windows new VM machine is one year old, as I do not find all programmes I have installed and others files.
Maybe I missed a step or did not choose the right parameters??
Is it possible to restore a Snapshot I have form the old one??
Thanks a lot for your help, I really appreciate.
because the rest is in the snapshots. But I wanted to see if at least the vmdk worked. We have a departure.
Try giving this command to the original vm:
The command will look similar to this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\username\VMware Workstation\vmware-vdiskmanager.exe" -r "D:\Virtual Machines\Windows 7\Windows 7.vmdk" -t 0 "C:\Users\username\Desktop\NewDisk.vmdk"
