Trying to get vmware 12.0.1 installed and keep getting the same error ('VMware Authorization Service' (VMAuthdService) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.)
System: Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit 6.1.7601, Service Pack 1
Here's what I've tried without success.
running installation msi as administrator
deleting the %TEMP% & rebooting as suggested in the kb
created and new administrative user and installing under that account
turnoff firewalls & removed virus scanner.
booted into safe mode with only microsoft services enabled.
