Failed to connected to localhost. Permission to perform this operation was denied (Shared VMs access)

Hi,

I was a Windows member server 2012r2 running VMware Workstation Pro 12.0 and using two "shared Vms"

Everything was running well.

ut I promote the servers to DC and since that time I could not access the shared VMs at all.

I allways get "Failed to connected to localhost. Permission to perform this operation was denied" when I try to select th "Shared VM"

I already verify or try this and reboot between each action:

  • Firewall are turn off
  • I changed the Shared port but still have the error about Vmware workstatio could not connect.
  • I updated to VMware workstation 12.0.1
  • I uninstall and do a force clean with the /clean switch and reinstall
  • I also try to uninstall again and scan all the registry and remove everything about "Vmware" and then reinstall
  • I try to create a new user domain admin and try to use that account to login and using syntax domain\user or user only
  • try also with file-> connect server-> using the IP address
  • I also try to login with the server\administrator with the old admin password
  • and try this KB http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1308

Still got the same issue and I'm out of idea.

Pretty sure it's relate with the fact that share stuff was create with the local administrator and now this one disappear.

Any idea, how I can fix that other way then reinstall that server?

Thanks
