Hi;
I have a Win-7 64 bit Pro Host, and I'm trying to get 3D Acceleration running in a Centos 6.7 (64-bit) Guest under Workstation 12 Pro.
The guest used to be hardware version 8, but I updated it to Hardware Version 12. I made sure the Guest settings specified Display/Accelerate 3D graphics.
But, glxinfo shows that I am getting Software OpenGL rendering. I tried this using open-vm-tools and Guest Tools (the version from Workstation Pro 12) installed, as well as just vmware Guest tools with the same results.
Is 3D acceleration supposed to work for this level of RHEL/Centos 6.7 Guest?
I also have a Centos 7.1 Guest on the same host, and it seems to get 3D hardware Acceleration.
Both the Centos 6.7 and Centos 7.1 Guests have a yellow triangle beneath the settings '3D' checkbox warning that "You must update Tools to enable 3D acceleration in this virtual machine'. This is despite the fact that one seems to work (for 3D acceleration), one doesn't, and both already have had their tools updated to the one from Workstation Pro 12...
Thanks.
